Losing Power while driving
« on: September 13, 2017, 09:52:30 AM »
Good Day

As im a female ill explain my situation as best as possible.
I have a 2012 125 CC Zest Scooter, 10Kms on the clock. Major service about 2 years ago. Recently replaced the throttle cable, spark plug all vacuum lines and air lines are fine, fuel filter is ok as well ans the  stator is 100% perfect. A few weeks ago something went wrong then sorted itself out without stopping. The situation is this: I am able to drive normally for about 25 minutes then suddenly it will loose power (like im just idling) only after a few pulls on the throttle it will start back up again and drive normally, sometimes it happens once per ride other times it happens a few times. Also the throttle handle to me feels a bit tight but the cable is in 100% working condition.

Im not much of a mechanic but can explain in my own way what I think is wrong.

Any help from you guys will be much appreciated. If you have any other questions Ill try to explain more.

Thanks in advanced.
Nikki

Nikki, in cases like this, it is probably best if you can get a mechanic to ride the scooter, so that they can directly experience, first hand, the problem/s. It's either fuel or electrically-related, but that's just guessing.

Hi There

Thanks for the reply.

My partner is not a qualified mechanic but can spot most problems out as he has been working on various cars/ bikes for years. It happend to him once while testing it out but he does have a heavier hand than me when using the throttle as it is fine for him but feels too tight to move with me.
