Big boy adventure 150 RS break in period.
« on: June 16, 2018, 01:53:18 PM »
Good day everyone

I recently bought the above mentioned scoot brand new. Now I know there is a 500km break in period, but what I'd like to know is this, why do I get 2/3-3/4 through the throttle range while accelerating perfectly fine and the last 1/3-1/4 throttle is stone dead? I don't good it there either, I gently open till it's at the end of its acceleration range, so to speak. At which time I'm only doing about 60-65km/h. If that's the top end then fair enough, but why the extra throttle movement? I also know it shouldn't be ridden over 70km/h for the break in, but it doesn't even get there. The max rider weight is 110km and I'm 91kg. The scoot has around 200km on the clock so far and has been like this from the start. Is it really me that's a bit big? It is a 150cc, rated at 90km/h and 110kg rider weight. Or has the scoot been slightly down tuned buy assembly mechanic till the first service to prevent engine damage apon break on period? I had a lifan 125cc scoot before and that thing would have easily out run this scoot for a joke.

So yes, any help or advice will be appreciated.

Hi there bud your scooter will definitely get faster as the new motor breaks in.  As for the down tuning part thats impossible far as im aware of.  Your first service will mainly be oil change.

Chinese scooters can last so long as its maintained.  Regular oil changes is a must and look out for bolts getting loose thats one of the major issues with china scooters as everyone in the forum would agree.
